I have been called to serve as vicar of St. Francis' Anglican Church in Blacksburg, VA. Lord willing we'll be moving up there late this summer. We do need to sell our home, so please keep that in your prayers.
St. Francis was founded in the late 70's. They occupy a stone building built in the early 50's which was once a Roman Catholic parish. As the parish has never had a full time priest living in the community they have never really grown as they should have. Yet the place should be a booming success. It is steps away from VA Tech, has a devoted core group, and a good physical plant. They have taken a step in faith to call me, and we are taking a step in faith in moving up there in this crazy economy. By the goodness and power of God, St. Francis will be a beacon for the Catholic faith in Blacksburg, and beyond.
The Church needs to reach men and women in college with the truth of Jesus Christ more than ever before. I ask for your prayers as we make plans to move to Blacksburg to begin this important work.
